BEYOND 2022: More Speakers Announced

It’s a pleasure to share the schedule for next month’s BEYOND conference, revealing more inspirational speakers, who will look at the roles the Creative Industries might take as we try to build a zero-carbon future.

Tackling the challenge of how to reduce the carbon footprint of film and TV production is BAFTA award winning television director Steve Smith (BAFTA albert), with over 30 years of production experience, in which he’s directed, produced and executive produced a variety of shows. Steve will be joined by Sustainability Advisor, Tilly Ashton whose work in film production aims to encourage and initiate better sustainable working practices. Together they will address what is being done and how much impact efforts can really deliver.

From ScanLAB Projects, Matthew Shaw and Emilia Clark will be talking about how they built immersive installation FRAMERATE on a foundation of sustainable values, as well as looking at the environmental impact of producing and touring the work internationally. This impactful artwork project bears witness to landscape-scale change caused by humans and nature.

Hosted by this year’s MC Jason Mohammad, these latest speakers join a stellar line up of experts already announced, including actor Michael Sheen, the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales Sophie Howe, production designer world-builder Professor Alex McDowell and many more.

Now in its 5th year, BEYOND is taking place on 18-20 October 2022, offering our global community the opportunity to join the in-person conference in Cardiff (18-19 Oct) and an exclusive online-only programme (20 Oct).
