GALWAD: The Future is Calling – LIVE This Week

An electrical storm breaks dramatically over Wales. The unthinkable happens – time cracks, the future makes contact.

GALWAD follows the story of Efa, a 16-year-old girl from Merthyr Tydfil. Efa claims that more than just messages have made it through from 2052 – she has swapped with her 46-year-old self from 2052. Follow her live journey across Wales over seven days, as she and her teenage friends battle with the dilemma of what to do when faced with your own future.

What does 2052 have to tell us and will we listen?

Every night this week, watch the story unfold in real-time online and on TV (Sky Arts) from 26 September – 2 October. You can also join the makers of GALWAD at next months’ BEYOND conference (18 – 20 Oct in Cardiff) in the session outlined below, to discover how this multi-platform story was created.

GALWAD is a story that brings a possible future roaring into the present. It pushes the boundaries of how stories have been told, with characters and story-lines connecting across TV drama, live performance, social media and news. Inspired by the Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 and as part of UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK, GALWAD is co-commissioned with Creative Wales, with funding from the Welsh and UK Government.
