BUREAU 555
Bureau 555, born out of a British Council funded programme in partnership with UAL, are on a mission to make digital tech accessible by introducing new training methods for people working in the textile industry in Bangladesh.
Attend this session on Day 1 of BEYOND to hear how Bureau 555 are working with makers and introducing virtual fabric sampling, a method that can have a huge impact on reducing the carbon footprint within the fashion industry. Nusrat Mahmud
Nusrat Mahmud is co-founder of Bureau 555 and Director at Hamid Fabrics Ltd in Dhaka, a woven fabric mill exporting for the USA and European markets. Nusrat is a passionate supporter of the arts and Co-founder of the Brihatta Art Foundation.
Nusrat will talk about Bureau 555’s innovative work and how it’s helping manufacturers move towards a more sustainable future.
Gabrielle Shiner-Hill
Gabrielle Shiner-Hill leads the technology adoption and quality development of Bureau 555 and has worked in design and manufacturing for 20 years. Bureau 555 are using 3D digital technology to help brands and manufacturers design and sample clothing more quickly, and with less waste.
Gabrielle leads on technology adoption and quality development. leads on technology adoption and quality development. She was previously Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Fashion Buying and Brand Management course at Ravensbourne University London and is the founder of ShinerHill design consultancy.
