Speaker Biography

Camille Baker is Professor in Interactive and Immersive Arts, and the Year Leader for the MA Games Design course, at the School of Film, Media and Performing Arts, University for the Arts. She is an interdisciplinary artist, curator and researcher, with a background in interactive art and design practices across creative disciplines. She has worked in XR immersive art design, wearable technology and e-textiles making, mobile media art and performance, interactive installation and performance, curating, and emerging technologies research and education.

Camille’s books include New Directions in Mobile Media and Performance, on approaches and artists to mobile media performance; and a co-edited book Intersecting Art and Technology in Practice: Techne, Technique, Technology with Dr Kate Sicchio, on the artistic process for those working across art and technology. She is the Principal Investigator for UCA for the EU funded STARTS Ecosystem and founder initiator for the EU WEAR Sustain project.
