Speaker Biography

Prof William Latham is known for his pioneering Organic Art, created in the late eighties whilst a Research Fellow at IBM. His book “Evolutionary Art and Computers” is a leading publication in this domain. In 1993 he moved into Rave Music working with bands such as The Shamen at the height of 90s cyberculture, and then moved into computer games development, creating games published by Universal Studios, Microsoft and Warner Bros.

In 2007 he became a Professor at Goldsmiths, University of London working on research projects with Imperial College and Oxford University. His Mutator VR Art Experience has been exhibited around the globe at The Pompidou Centre, Paris, Ars Electronica, in Kyoto, Venice, and Shanghai. William has a BA from Oxford University and an MA from The Royal College of Art. He is a visiting Professor at The Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, UCL and Director of SoftV Ltd and London Geometry Ltd.
