Dr Pearl Haoqing Wang is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry (ICCI), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). She has extensive working experience in media management, multinational corporate communication and creative communication fields before she joined SJTU.

At present, Pearl is a visiting scholar at Harvard Kennedy School of Government (U.S.), and her research focuses on creative urban planning and cultural creative industry development, including internet and new media communication, urban marketing and creative city. In the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, she acted as the Creative Director and Press Spokesman of China pavilion. Pearl has published a variety of books, such as The Road to Interactive Innovation, Spirit of Enterprise and Strength of Entrepreneurship. She is the China PI of the AHRC funded IIIE project with Goldsmiths.
