BEYOND Conference is offering young people (aged 18-30) free access to specially curated sections of BEYOND 2025 at The Lowry from 2pm on Day 02 (Wed 26th Nov), Highlights Stage Livestream and the BEYOND Fringe.

What is BEYOND?

BEYOND is the leading conference for research and innovation in the creative industries and it’s is coming to Greater Manchester on November 24-26! It attracts a global audience and brings together thinkers, makers, researchers, creatives, startups, students, investors and policy makers. It’s a great place to learn about, and experience, the latest in creative research.

So if you’re studying or working with creative technologies, media, film, content creation, or creative uses of technology in other industries, or if you’re just interested to hear from some great speakers, BEYOND is great place to learn and build your network. Read on to find out how you can get FREE access to BEYOND 2025, or apply to be a volunteer at this year’s event in MediaCity, Salford!

When is it taking place?

> Monday 24th October – Day 00 / Various fringe events in MediaCity

Do I qualify for a YOUNG CREATIVE ticket?

If you’re aged between 18-30 or over 18 and in full time education, you can get a free YOUNG CREATIVE ticket. You’ll need to answer a few questions, in the form below, so we can check you qualify, and then we’ll provide you with a code to get your ticket.

What does the YOUNG CREATIVE ticket include?

> FREE access to the BEYOND Fringe* which takes place on Monday November 24th, before the main conference kicks off. The Fringe features a range of events and exciting content including dance, DJs, and the flagship Creative Mixer event in MediaCity’s Hot House, all hosted by our local partners MediaCity, MediaCity Innovation & Technology Hub, University of Salford, Salford City Council and GM Business Growth Hub.

> FREE access to BEYOND’s unique showcases, the Immersive Futures Lab and the R&D showcase, presenting the latest cutting-edge research, plus demonstrations of a wide range innovative, creative prototypes.

> FREE access to a range of speakers and sessions on Day 02 of BEYOND, between 2pm-5pm – more on this below!

*Note that fringe events are free but require their own tickets, booked separately via the BEYOND ticket page.

What can I see on Day 02 of BEYOND?

EMERGING INNOVATORS TAKEOVER

Hear about the inspirational work and future plans of some up-and-coming young creatives in the Emerging Innovators Takeover with lightning talks, roundtable discussions and a reverse mentoring session – challenging traditional hierarchies and positioning younger voices as knowledge-holders.

2pm-3pm: Next Gen Innovation – Lightning talks from young creatives pushing boundaries at the intersection of creativity, research and innovation.

3.30pm-5pm: Reverse Mentoring – Challenge traditional hierarchies in this interactive roundtable where younger voices lead the conversation.

BEYOND DAY 02 AFTERNOON PROGRAMME

The Shape of Things to Come | 2pm-3.30pm – more info

How does innovation take shape in our cities, towns and regions—and how can innovation shape the future of place? Civic leaders, place-makers and researchers explore what makes local innovation distinctive and how it can lead to inclusive renewal.

The Creator Economy | 2pm-3pm – more info

How do we systematically articulate the multiple benefits generated by arts, culture and heritage in ways that give them proper weight in economic decision-making? This session explores the process of creating taxonomies for the sector.

From MyWorld to Your World | 2pm-3pm – more info

MyWorld launched in 2021 with £30M to transform the West of England’s creative tech sector. This panel explores its impact on jobs, IP, research and investment, sharing what worked, what didn’t, and what they’d redesign if starting today.

How to access the Day 01 programme

While the YOUNG CREATIVE ticket does not provide free access to the conference on Day 01, the main stage (during both Day 01 and Day 02) will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel.
