Christopher Smith on the AHRC’s Partnership with BEYOND 2024

BEYOND Conference is pleased to announce its renewed partnership with UK Research and Innovation’s (UKRI) Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funds internationally outstanding, independent researchers across the whole range of the arts and humanities: history, archaeology, digital content, philosophy, languages and literature, design, heritage, area studies, the creative and performing arts, and much more.

Professor Christopher Smith, Executive Chair, Arts and Humanities Research Council, explains in the video below, the value of BEYOND Conference as a moment to reflect on the extraordinary work of AHRC, with the creation of infrastructures such as CoSTAR, in taking the creative industries and creative R&D forward.

Professor Smith also said, “The conference provides a great opportunity to talk about the ways in which the creative industries can drive our economy, as part of the industrial strategy, now the creative industries are a critical part of the way that the UK will develop a skills-based economy for the 21st century.”

Each year, BEYOND Conference plays host to a global gathering of innovators, researchers, and investors focused on research and development across the creative industries.

BEYOND 2024 comes from MediaCity, Salford, where the last decade has seen a transformation of Greater Manchester’s creative economy, now a key part of the north-west’s identity. It will explore the innovative potential of our Creative Cities, using MediaCity’s story as a launch pad amidst a new era in UK government.

The latest schedule and ticket information can be found on the BEYOND website.
