BEYOND Conference is pleased to announce the continued support of the British Council as Programme Partner for BEYOND 2024.
We are delighted that our partnership with the British Council continues to build, following last year’s collaboration for BEYOND Conference in London. The British Council is focused on enabling creative economies to find new ways to thrive, sharing its knowledge, expertise and networks with creative professionals and policymakers, helping them drive change and build sustainable, inclusive futures.
The work of the British Council in Creative Economy focuses on policy, research, advocacy, and skills and sector development. It works to strengthen networks and ecosystems in the creative and cultural sectors to support collaboration, long-term impact, mutual benefit, and greater international understanding.
Rehana Mughal, Director Creative Economy at British Council, said:
“Creative Economies around the world are evolving rapidly, new technologies have accelerated their growth and influenced people’s capacity to innovate. The British Council is partnering with Beyond 2024 to share a diversity of perspectives and insights from around the world, to inspire dialogue, encourage research and to nourish new collaborations.”
Sam Michel, Director of BEYOND, said:
“We’re delighted to expand our partnership with the British Council for BEYOND 2024, creating a truly global event that focuses on the UK’s creative sector, building collaborations and sharing knowledge across the globe. Last year, the partnership with the British Council helped attract delegates from 38 countries, we look forward to welcoming an even more diverse international audience to Salford this year.”
BEYOND Conference is a place where creativity meets R&D, and it plays host each year to a unique and global gathering of current and future innovators, focused on research and development across the creative industries. This year’s conference will take place at MediaCity in Salford, Greater Manchester, where it will showcase the innovative potential of Creative Cities and give a platform to the creative brilliance and bold visions within our city regions.
Professor Andrew Chitty, Chair of BEYOND, said:
“At BEYOND 2024, we will explore Creative Cities and the part that research and innovation plays in making the theoretical, real. Growing the creative industries more evenly in city regions across the UK will unlock greater and fairer economic growth, and make urban centres better places to live and work.
There is no shortage of creative brilliance and bold visions out there, ready to unleash the potential. We’re looking forward to welcoming creators, artists, researchers, businesses – from startup to multinationals – and policy makers, to MediaCity, Salford, to discover, see, hear and discuss what this means in practice.”
More details about the BEYOND 2024 programme will be announced over the coming weeks, and Early Bird tickets are now available.

BEYOND is a conference where thinkers, makers, investors and researchers across the creative industries come together to explore the relationship between creative research and business innovation. Now in its 7th year, it has proved successful in showcasing individuals, teams and organisations powering ground-breaking projects and creative clusters both in the UK and globally. It draws positive feedback from its delegates and attracts a high number of regular visitors from around the world.
Previous events have been held in London and Cardiff, hosting a wealth of leading industry speakers, including actor and activist Michael Sheen and ABBA Voyage producer, Svana Gisla.
