Speaker Biography

Having spent seven years at a leading media agency, Phil retrained as a media and entertainment lawyer specialising in intellectual property for talent, distributors and brands: from publishing to film, music and TV, licensing, distribution and more.

With a wealth of experience within the talent, social media, entertainment and advertising industries, Phil joined Gleam Futures in 2013 as COO where he was instrumental in Gleam’s dynamic growth and eventual sale to Dentsu Inc. in 2021. As well as developing and building successful brands with some of the world’s best digital-first talent, as the strategic, financial and global operations lead, Phil managed successful teams across Gleam’s multiple territories as it went from a small start-up to an international multi-million EBIT business. For many years Phil completed Gleam’s biggest deals, advising creators across the globe.

Phil left Gleam Futures in 2021 and as well as providing legal and advisory services to businesses and talent in the creator economy via his business Big Roof Consultancy, he has since co-founded multiple digital creator lead brands whilst founding and being CEO of the UK’s only creator focused trade body, The Digital Creator Association (the “DCA”). The DCA is a professional membership body for digital creator talent and their commercial representatives, focussed on supporting creators and professionalising the digital creator industry.
