Speaker Biography
Elene Toidze is a creative economy professional with over a decade of experience supporting the growth of the creative industries in Georgia. She has been actively involved in building strategic frameworks, advancing sector growth, and strengthening the ecosystem nationally and regionally.
Elene was among the key contributors to Georgia’s first national Culture Strategy, developed through national strategic efforts to strengthen the cultural sector, and later led the development of the creative industries direction within a key public agency, overseeing new initiatives and coordinating the preparation of Georgia’s first Creative Economy Strategy. She brings experience across both public and independent sectors, with a strong focus on regional development, ecosystem-building, and supporting creative hubs and spaces.
In 2023, Elene co-founded and became Director of the Creative Clusters Alliance (CCAL), an independent network of creative spaces and initiatives formed through collaboration within the British Council’s Creative Economy programmes. She also serves as Chief Project Officer for Creative Compass, a four-year EU-funded project supporting the CCI sector in Georgia, hosted and co-funded by the Goethe-Institut.
Alongside her leadership roles, Elene works as a consultant, researcher, and trainer, supporting creative organisations, hubs, and networks through strategic planning, research, capacity-building, and cross-sector collaboration. She remains an active advocate for the creative sector’s development and resilience, working to amplify the role of creative communities in Georgia’s social and economic life.
