EmbodyXR – Mercurial Dance
EmbodyXR® is an anxiety management game helping young people to choreograph their mind-body connection.
EmbodyXR® is an immersive, dance art game that uses physical movement and digital storytelling to reduce the impact of anxiety in young people. The game engages players in mindful movement through a series of challenges that draw upon choreographed movement, high performance management and cognitive behavioural techniques.
Our VR MVP is currently touring to libraries, schools and community centres as VR experience to raise awareness around the issues of mental health. It is supported by a roaming Sign Spinning performance and wrap around visual arts workshop activity which extends the experience into the physical world for live audiences.
In EmbodyXR® you venture into a captivating Sign World to rescue Miya a Sign-Spinner who suffers from anxiety and who is lost deep in the Sign World a manifestation of her own mind. You progress through 6 levels, with 6 degrees of freedom and fully interactive game play as you search for her. Engaging in choreographed challenges, combining mindfulness and cognitive-behavioural techniques (CBT) that promote the body’s role in the mind-body connection to promote better mental health and foster, focus and self-reflection.
Move in a new world of mental wellness!
At Beyond Conference you can experience a 5 min demo of one of the game levels.
In development is a smartphone companion app that develops the psycho-educational aspects of anxiety management due for release in 2026.
