A people-centred 15-minute city with XR
Augmented and Virtual Reality for Thriving Neighbourhoods
Envisioning Neighbourhoods and Co-Creating Thriving Communities in the 15-Minute City (ENACT15mC) adopts a people-centred approach to urban design.
Working in collaboration with other project teams in Norway, Poland and Spain as part of the transnational Driving Urban Transitions partnership, the Oxford Urban Living Lab team (led by Professor Tim Jones, Oxford Brookes University) uses AR/VR technologies to help communities understand and envision the possibilities created by the 15-minute-city (15mC) approach.
As part of their BEYOND showcase, the Oxford team will highlight some of the AR/VR technology used to co-create and build consensus on neighbourhood design within the 15mC, including the VR Cave at Oxford Brookes University.
