Speaker Biography
Simon Moreton is Associate Professor of Creative Economies at UWE Bristol, where he leads for the the Creative Economies Lab, part of the Digital Cultures Research Centre. He is currently director of Bristol and Bath Creative R&D part of AHRC’s Creative Industries Cluster Programme (CICP), whose work has focussed on supporting sustainable, inclusive, and responsible R&D in the creative sector. He leads Fair Creative Economies, a project to explore ethical ways of organising in the creative economy as part of MyWorld (UKRI Strength in Places Fund) programme led by University of Bristol. He also oversees Container, an online magazine exploring how technology is used for creativity, community, and social justice. He is also a practicing artist, writer, and Fellow of the RSA.
