Speaker Biography
Dr Dawn Ellams is a Senior Tutor at the Royal College of Art. Her background is in sustainable design and circular fashion & textiles systems development, she uses design research methods as a catalyst for innovation within multi-disciplinary and complex industry collaborations.
Her current research focusses on the Life Cycle Impacts of fashion and textile supply chains. Collaborating across disciplines to explore new systems of benchmarking required to understand and disrupt environmental impacts. Through her research she is also exploring the role of and approaches to Creative R&D for innovation.
She currently leads research across multiple research projects, including; Creative Industries Cluster Project (CICP) Future Fashion Factory, the CICP UK Demonstrator in Sustainable and Circular Fashion, Textiles and Apparel and the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), Innovate UK, Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Interdisciplinary NetworkPlus; Beyond baselines.
