Speaker Biography

Sara is the Director of Skills and Workforce Development at the British Film Institute, managing initiatives to diversify talent in the screen workforce and promote inclusive practices. She collaborates with UK Government departments on skills policy. Passionate about fair access to cultural industries, Sara has held senior roles at ScreenSkills and Creative & Cultural Skills, leading national sector skills programs. At Arts Council England, she co-created the £15 million Creative Employment Programme, aiding thousands of unemployed young people. She also launched the award-winning Discover Creative Careers Week. Sara trained at art school and as a post-16 teacher, working in Further and Higher Education. She is a Trustee of the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds.
