Speaker Biography

Robyn is a stage, screen and immersive director, based as Founder of Liminal Stage Productions, Consultant Freelancer & Associate Learning Practitioner at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), and Development Researcher at the Hat Trick Lab.

In 2021, Robyn was awarded a ‘Transform’ Fellowship by the Clore Leadership Programme, and subsequently worked with StoryFutures Academy, Epic Games, ILM, Creative UK and others to pivot Liminal into cross-industry XR work involving virtual production, cross-media IP universes, spatial entertainment and digital humans.

In 2022, Robyn’s ‘★★★★ brilliantly eerie nailbiter’ GREY MAN starring Kate O’Flynn was selected by The Guardian as the best digital theatre to stream. Liminal was then commissioned by ScreenSkills to deliver a training series introducing arts and culture professionals to emerging technologies and methods for filming live performance. In 2023, Liminal collaborated with Emmy Award-winning Hat Trick Productions (DERRY GIRLS, TRIGGER POINT) and VP studio Target3D to R&D an interactive digital comedian prototype exploring the ethical implications of harnessing genAI within the creative industries. In 2024/2025, Liminal will be shooting an immersive demonstrator film with funding from Innovate UK.
