Speaker Biography

Richard Koeck is a Professor and Chair in Architecture and the Visual Arts at the School of Architecture and is Director of CAVA | Centre for Architecture and the Visual Arts at the University of Liverpool. He is also the co-founding director of CineTecture Ltd., an award-winning digital production company based in Liverpool.

Richard has been leading multidisciplinary R&D and innovations across the creative industries and cultural/commercial applications, focusing on transmedia intersections between space, media, and culture, as well as immersive design. He is the producer of award-winning films and animations, protypes for AR/VR/XR, realtime, audio-visual immersive experiences (exhibitions/visitor attractions), interactive AI and machine learning applications for personalised or collective experiences as well as locative media/web applications that integrate 3D, AR and storytelling – often underpinned by UKRI funding.
