Speaker Biography
With over twenty years experience, Rachel is currently Commissioning Editor for BBC Popular Music Television. Rachel has commissioned and curated high-profile, award-winning content including returning programmes such as the BBC’s Glastonbury Festival coverage, Later…with Jools Holland, Mercury Music Prize, MOBO Awards, Reel Stories with Dermot O’Leary and When X Came to Britain to more recent commissions; Fight the Power, Disco: The Sound of a Revolution and First Ladies of Hip Hop.
Away from commissioning, Rachel champions and supports burgeoning industry talent through working on the Royal Television Society committee, programming events across the industry with a focus on fostering diversity and inclusion across the media landscape.
Rachel has previously dedicated her time as a juror and speaker for a range of media organisations, including BAFTA, Prix Italia and WOMEX, as well as working closely with music education charity Brighter Sound on their board of trustees.
