Speaker Biography

Neil McDonnell is Professor of Philosophy and XR Technology at the University of Glasgow. He works on topics concerning the Metaphysics of Causation, philosophical issues in Safety Engineering, and both philosophical investigations and practical projects concerning Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality (collectively XR) Technology.

Neil is Chair of the University of Glasgow’s ARC-XR research lab and is Principle Investigator on the Museums in the Metaverse project, funded through the Levelling Up Innovations Accelerator programme.
