Speaker Biography

Kamya Ramachandran, Founder-Director of BeFantastic, spearheads pioneering initiatives at the intersection of technology, art, and societal impact. With a dynamic career spanning the UK, USA, India and currently Singapore, Kamya orchestrates experiments in transdisciplinary pedagogy focusing on pressing issues like emerging technology on the one hand and climate change on the other. She helms this nascent field for South and South East Asia with deep experience in strategic curation and thoughtful execution of programs that convene diverse collaborative communities worldwide. Her journey as a trained architect, researcher, and design educator, brought her to hold the position of Creative Director of Jaaga, Bangalore since 2014, where Kamya has engaged stakeholders from both public and private sectors, and fostered invaluable support for artists and audiences alike.

She orchestrates the groundbreaking TechArt Festival series in Bangalore, notably, the recent award-winning FutureFantastic (2023). Her contributions have earned her prestigious positions in the global art and creative technology landscape serving as a Jury Member for an Arts Residency program at CERN Switzerland (‘24), as a Fellow at the IT:U-Ars Electronica’s Founding Lab (‘23-’24), and as a Jury Member for the State of the Art(ist) Prize and Campus Award at Ars Electronica (‘24).

With an indomitable spirit, Kamya continues to shape the global creative landscape, leaving an indelible mark at the intersection of technology, art, and societal evolution.
