In her role as Professor of British history at the University of Manchester, Hannah Barker’s research focuses on the social history of northern England, and ranges from the eighteenth-century to the present day. She is Chair of Manchester Histories, a charity that works to engage people and groups in Greater Manchester with history and heritage.
