Speaker Biography

Ms Anya Elvin is a physicist employed by Aralia Systems Ltd. Aralia specialises in the automated extraction of information from video and images.

Anya’s AI expertise is in the emerging field of Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) which solve complex engineering problems, such as 3D image reconstruction, using Deep Neural Networks.

Anya’s responsibilities include assessing the viability of deploying academic research within Aralia products and liaising with users in the heritage, augmented reality and medical sectors.

She is particularly focused on smartphone camera solutions that optimally combine Multiview Stereo, Photometric Stereo and Time-of-Flight data.

Anya works with international heritage organisations and assists in setting future policies for capturing and archiving 3D records of historical sites.

Most recently, Anya has been part of a multinational team developing new techniques for improving the speed and accuracy of damage assessment following natural disasters.
