OPUS – The Next Stage
The Next Stage for performing arts and cultural storytelling using reality capture and augmented reality.
OPUS is The Next Stage for Arts and Culture. This Great Adventure (TGA) uses advanced volumetric video technology to create holographic human performances, making them accessible to anyone, anywhere, anytime via the OPUS platform for smartphones and tablets.
TGA are working with leading arts and technology partners, including Birmingham Royal Ballet and Jette Parker at the Royal Opera House, and established and emerging artists, to go beyond the limits of the traditional stage.
Innovate UK called OPUS, “a new art form at the crossroads of performing art and technology.”
Any real world location can now become a stage using OPUS on smartphones and tablets. Anyone who can’t access a theatre seat can now get a front row view. Anytime people have time to hear, see or be part of a performance can now be show time.
The Next Stage has no limits for creativity. The audience can turn any place they wish into their own set for the show. They can move around, and even through, these holograms in all directions and play with their scale from miniature to giant.
The Next Stage has no limits for monetisation. Brands can collaborate, passcodes can unlock special experiences, rewards can be collected, and holographic performances will drive traffic to both online and in-store purchases.
The Next Stage for Arts and Culture combines creativity and commercialisation by offering exclusive holographic performances integrated with posters and brochures, markers and ticket purchases.
OPUS welcomes all institutions, creators, innovators and brands to take The Next Stage.
