Speaker Biography<\/h4>

Josh Siepel<\/strong> is Senior Lecturer at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU)<\/a> at the University of Sussex Business School. He leads the AHRC Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre work on Creative Clusters, Innovation and Access to Finance. His research links together policy-relevant issues involving creative industries, skills, innovation, entrepreneurship and finance. He was the lead author of the PEC Creative Radar<\/a> reports and is currently working on a projects on rural creative industries and Createch businesses. His policy work includes the Creative Radar series of reports  Fusion Effect<\/a> report for Nesta, the Highly Innovative Firms<\/a> report for BIS, and the Thin Markets<\/a> report for BVCA\/Nesta, in addition to numerous evaluations of national and regional policies. He has a BS in genetics from Texas A&M University and an MSc and DPhil from the University of Sussex, where he was a Marshall Scholar.<\/p><\/p>
