Speaker Biography<\/h3>

Adala Leeson leads a small team of analysts undertaking and
\ncommissioning social, economic and environmental research at Historic
\nEngland. Adala and her team produce the Heritage Counts publication
\nseries, which is a compendium of evidence considering the connections
\nbetween heritage, the economy, society and the environment. Adala has
\nworked closely with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS)
\nto develop the Culture and Heritage Capital (CHC) programme. She is the
\nPrincipal Investigator for a AHRC\/DCMS-funded project developing a
\ntaxonomy for arts, culture and heritage. She is also a co-investigator on
\nthe AHRC\/DCMS-funded Caveat project developing economic techniques
\nfor culture and heritage valuation. Prior to joining Historic England, Adala
\nworked as an Associate Economic Consultant for 10 years, advising
\npublic and private clients on economic development and regeneration
\nprogrammes. She previously worked in academia as a researcher at the
\nLondon School of Economics<\/p>
