Speaker Biography
Jane Harris is Professor of Digital Design and Innovation, Director of the Fashion, Textiles and Technology Institute (FTTI, UAL), University of the Arts London. Her role includes leadership of research and development initiatives aligned to the new UAL campus (2023), on the Queen Elizabeth Park, as part of a development called East Bank, with partners including UCL, Loughborough University, QMUL, V&A, Sadler’s Wells, Studio Wayne McGregor.
Director of the Business of Fashion, Textiles and Technology, a Creative R&D Partnership award (£5.5m), as part of an £80million Creative Industries Cluster Programme, Jane is also leading an AHRC C19 award, DREEm. An Advisor to the EU for ICT and EPSRC, Jane is a member of the AHRC Peer Review College, and the V&A Research Institute (VARI) advisory board.. Jane is also a NESTA Fellow working across XR and creative computing disciplines. This work has received awards from Channel4, Arts Foundation and ACE.
