Gavin McWilliams

Speaker Biography
McWilliams is the Multidisciplinary Programmes Director of ‘ECIT’ – a dedicated technology research institute in Queen’s University Belfast. He has a track record of initiating and delivering major research and innovation projects via mixed consortia of academic and industrial partners. McWilliams joined the QUB cybersecurity research centre (CSIT) in 2009 and spent ten years as the centre’s Director of Engineering. Prior to this he worked for over 20 years in commercial R&D and product development as a software engineer, architect and development manager in the data comms and mobile Internet sectors. He managed the ‘Shaping the Metaverse’ project and is lead author of the final report.
