Speaker Biography

Chris founded consultancy Digital Advisory in 2022 to create new intersections between art, research and technology. His work includes developing strategic narratives for major museums and arts and culture projects across the world, growing companies in the creative technology sector, and working on creative and cultural industries research. Chris also develops the propositions, strategic plans and business cases for major investments in R&D and Innovation (with £1bn of proposed investments are in current development).

From 2017-22 Chris was Director of Digital, Communications and Technology at the National Gallery and ran National Gallery X, an innovation lab for the future of art and technology in collaboration with King’s College London. Before joining the National Gallery, Chris was Head of Digital & Publishing at the British Museum, where he founded their digital department and created their digital strategy. Chris has a PHD from the University of Bristol and a Masters in Innovation Economics from UCL.
