Speaker Biography
Phil Batty is the Executive Director of UNBOXED: Creative in the UK, having worked on the project since its inception. In this role, he has overseen the delivery of UNBOXED alongside the Ceremonies, Culture & Queen’s Baton Relay initiatives of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
From 2014-2018, Phil was Director of Public Engagement for the UK City of Culture 2017 programme in Hull; before moving to The WOW Foundation to oversee their transition into an independent charity. Phil went on to lead the communications and marketing teams for London’s first-ever Borough of Culture in Waltham Forest before moving to Birmingham in early 2020.
